Hastings Street, Noosa and Mooloolaba

If you are looking for a beach vacation in Queensland, then I recommend Noosa or Mooloolaba as the two best beach towns on the coast. Both are north of Brisbane, on the Sunshine Coast.

Noosa is more up-market. When in Noosa, the best place to stay is on Hastings Street. This is the main restaurant and shopping street, and it runs between the beach and the river. So if you stay here, you are close to the beach and the great restaurants. It is a relatively quiet friendly resort street. My favourite hotel is the Sebel Noosa located at 32 Hasting Street, and has rooms (suites) that overlook the river.  It is much more friendly and smaller than the Sheraton.

Mooloolaba has been rated by a travel magazine recently as the best family beach in Australia, and I agree. A fantastic beach, and a friendly strip of hotels and shops next to the beach. In my view, the best hotel is Oceans Mooloolaba.

Oceans Mooloolaba

In my opinion, the best place to stay on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland is Oceans Mooloolaba.

It is the newest and best ocean front apartment complex in Mooloolaba. It is not large - about 50 to 60 apartments. All have ocean views and all have at least 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The pool has an ocean view too!

To buy one of these apartments costs well over $1 million, but you can stay here for the night for much less!

This is clearly the best accommodation that is available on the Sunshine Coast.
